Get The Most From Your
Shampoo and Conditioning Treatments
- Shampoo's don't have
to lather a lot to be working but if it doesn't lather like you
want, add water, not shampoo.
- Shampoo twice for
more volume. The first shampoo removes dirt and styling products,
the second adds volume.
- If you have dry hair,
don't shampoo daily, just rinse and condition on the second day
and restyle.
- Eliminate shine busting
styling products with a weekly clarifying shampoo. A good one to
try is Redken Hair Cleansing Creme Shampoo.
- Try color enhancing
shampoo's for instant shine and color refresher. Use once or twice
a week. Try Redken Shades EQ Color Enhancing Shampoo.
- Before conditioning,
towel blot hair or squeeze out excess moisture. Water logged hair
does not absorb the conditioner.
- Apply conditioners
to the hair shaft and not to the root or scalp area. This can weigh
hair down and cause it to be limp.
- Before swimming,
wet hair and apply conditioner to avoid the chlorine or salt water
damage.
- Deep condition more
often if you spend time outside. The sun and wind are damaging to
the hair. You can also try Redken Sunshape Shampoo, Conditioner
and Treatment which protects your hair from sun, salt, and chlorine.
- Let conditioner have
time to work. Leave in 1 or 2 minutes, a little longer for very
dry hair, and then rinse.
- Don't brush wet hair,
use a wide tooth comb to avoid breakage.
- Towel blot hair.
Rubbing hair with a towel causes hair breakage.
- Detangle hair from
the bottom up. Starting at the top breaks hair. Comb conditioner
through in the shower to make it easier.
- For a deep conditioning
treatment, apply conditioner to towel blotted hair and wrap a warm
towel around your head. Leave 5 to 15 minutes. The heat makes the
treatment penetrate the hair deeper. Try Redken All Soft Heavy Cream.
